The Gary and Mary West Foundation is 501(c)(3) private, non-operating foundation providing outcomes-based funding to support initiatives that lower the cost of healthcare to enable seniors to successfully age in place. Solely funded by Gary and Mary West, the Solana Beach-based foundation has awarded 534 grants totaling more than $212 million since its start in 2006.
Created by Roland and Ramona Sahm, the Sahm Family Foundation is a private family foundation based in Southern California. Its mission is to improve the welfare of children and seniors and to support the fine and performing arts. In 2019 the Sahm Family Foundation gave nearly $1 million in grants to local senior-focused organizations, making it one of the largest gifts ever given to San Diego’s aging population.
The San Diego Foundation has been working to advance quality of life, increase social impact, and champion civic engagement in the San Diego region for more than 40 years. Since its inception, the community foundation, which was created by and for the community of San Diego, has granted more than $1.1 billion to local agencies and programs. The San Diego Seniors Community Foundation receives funding from the San Diego Foundation’s Woolley Fund along with the Del Mar Healthcare Fund, which backs the San Diego Age-Friendly Communities initiative.
Domanica Foundation is a private family foundation that funds educational and social programs that work to enhance and enrich lives and foster empowerment and respect. Founded in 1994, the Texas-based organization primarily focuses on supporting social services that target hunger and homelessness and improve access to healthcare for the underserved. Domanica also offers educational scholarships for nontraditional students.
The Parker Foundation was founded on October 5, 1971 for charitable purposes leading to the betterment of life for all people of San Diego County. With a net endowment of $42 million, the Foundation has granted over $54 million since inception.
The California Health Care Foundation is dedicated to advancing meaningful, measurable improvements in the way the health care delivery system provides care to the people of California, particularly those with low incomes and those whose needs are not well served by the status quo.
