Social Isolation Tied to Senior Homelessness in San Diego

Homelessness among older people in San Diego is an emerging crisis as people over age 60 have become the fastest-growing segment of our unsheltered population. Social isolation and the lack of a support network are contributing factors leading many older people to lose their homes.

Joe Gavin spoke to KUSI News about social isolation’s devastating impacts on health outcomes and homelessness – problems that will almost certainly grow worse as our population rapidly ages.
