San Diego Senior Centers Receive $31,000 to Spread Holiday Cheer to Isolated Elders

San Diego Seniors Community Foundation is pleased to announce the second round of grant funding from our No Senior Alone initiative totaling $31,585 to a dozen local senior centers. The grants are tailored to service providers creating holiday-themed events and gifts to bring joy and comfort to more than 2,200 older San Diegans who will be alone this holiday season.

Organizations receiving grants include the Fourth District Senior Center, which will provide 150 seniors with a hot curbside meal, poinsettia plant, stocking stuffers, and hand-crafted greeting cards. Other senior centers will be delivering gifts and cards to older people who cannot physically come in, and even hosting Zoom holiday parties to bring people together virtually!
