This month, SDSCF completed the final steps to become a recognized partner of Live Well San Diego, a vision for a region that is Building Better Health, Living Safely and Thriving. Through the collaborative work of community organizations and individuals and the leveraging of the diverse resources and the backbone support of the County of San Diego, the vision aligns efforts across sectors to help all 3.3 million San Diego County residents live well. Over 500 organizations throughout the region have made a formal commitment to the vision so that wherever one lives, works, plays, or prays, an organization or individual is nearby, working to improve the well-being and the health of San Diego communities. The vision of Live Well is: Together, we can do more than each of us alone.
Live Well San Diego involves partner organizations in all sectors – from government to business, to schools, to faith-based and community organizations – through a shared purpose. Working together allows for the planning and implementing innovative and creative projects to bring Live Well San Diego’s vision of a region that is Building Better Health, Living Safe, and Thriving to life.
Organizations become Live Well San Diego Recognized Partners by making a formal commitment to support the Live Well San Diego vision. Recognized Partners include healthcare providers, community and faith-based organizations, businesses, school districts, and other jurisdictions, including cities, tribal governments, and military or veterans’ organizations.
Organizational leaders and community members gather regionally to identify priority needs, plan community improvements and conduct activities to improve the health, safety, and overall well-being of residents and their communities. These teams serve as a central point for action at the local level.
The Live Well San Diego Indicators measure the collective impact of efforts by Recognized Partners and community stakeholders over the long term. As more residents are able to improve their health, safety, and economic status, there are more opportunities for people to grow, connect and thrive.
On December 7, 2022, SDSCF was honored to present a 60-minute breakout session at the 7th annual Live Well Advance Conference & School Summit. The conference brought thousands of partners and stakeholders together to network, learn about new tools and best practices, and participate in breakout sessions. Leaders from every sector come together to participate in efforts to advance the shared vision of a healthy, safe, and thriving San Diego region.
The SDSCF team informed attendees on our Master Plan for Senior Centers and discussed our vision of transforming the aging services network through empowered senior centers that are strategically aligned with the Live Well goals of building better health, living safely, and thriving.
